Christina Aguilera is keeping those awesome imitations coming.

After nailing her impression of Britney Spears on The Tonight Show, the Voice judge took her talents to Late Night with Seth Meyers and brought back her Saturday Night Live impression of Sex and the City character Samantha Jones.

"It was fun. I was obsessed with that show at the time," Christina told Seth Meyers about her experience imitating Samantha, who Kim Cattrall played on the HBO hit show. "Kim was always talking like this," she said, going into the Samantha impression. "The big line of that skit was her big secret coming out...'I'm a dude,'" she continued with a laugh.

Before her appearance on Seth's show, the singer played a game of 'Wheel of Musical Impressions' with Jimmy Fallon, imitating Cher, Shakira and lastly Britney Spears with a rendition of "This Little Piggy." If you missed it (or just want to see it again), check out the clip from The Tonight Show below.

Selena Gomez Pulls a Taylor Swift, Reaches Out to Struggling Fan

Selena Gomez with a fanWho says celebs don't see what their fans write online? We all know Taylor Swift does, but now her BFF Selena Gomez is reaching out to fans on the net, too. Sel recently commented on a struggling, suicidal fan's Instagram post in hopes of helping her through the rough time.

I know I meant lives. I don't care about grammar. I'm sorry I had to share. Every life is worth it.

A photo posted by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

"God puts us in situations that are so unexplainably difficult for a reason. There is someone in the world feeling so much, just like you. There is someone who will always have it better or have it way worse than you," she wrote. "The point of all of that is for to feel not alone. My point is, you are not alone in this world."

Selena, who has had to deal with personal issues herself, insisted on sharing the post because "every life is worth it."

"People everyday feel so many emotions they wish they could turn off. But that's not why we are here. We are here for relationships, for people just like us who feel worthless. Your purpose is to share, help, encourage. Remember that. Please. Before you think of taking your life, think of all the life's you could save," she added.. "I love you. More importantly there is a God that will love more than I ever could."

Taylor Swift and Kanye West Working on "Bad Blood' Remix?

Kanye West and Taylor SwiftShould Katy Perry worry about getting attacked by Taylor Swift and Kanye West? Rumors swirled earlier this week that Taylor and Kanye were working on a remix of Tay's Katy-diss track, "Bad Blood," and we've been afraid for the "Roar" singer ever since.

There's no need to freak out, though. Tay made it clear that she's not creating a "Bad Blood" remix with 'Ye via a message on Tumblr.

"None of this is true," she said about the mix talk. All of it came about because Kanye and Taylor chatted about working with each other at the Grammys, years after he stormed the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards and interrupted her during her acceptance speech.

A few days after their Grammy hangout, 'Ye revealed to Ryan Seacrest that him and Taylor were planning to go into the recording studio together. He didn't provide any details about the collaboration, though, but many assumed they were working on that specific track.

"Yeah, she wants to get in the studio and we're definitely going to go in. Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I'm down to get in the studio and work. I don't discriminate," Kanye explained to Ryan.

We're pretty sure Taylor and Kanye will still collaborate musically on something, even if it's not the 1989 hit about the beef between Katy and Tay. Would you like to see Kanye and Taylor work on a remix of one of their original songs or come up with something fresh?

Is This Dress White and Gold or Blue and Black: Celebs Weigh In

dress white and gold or blue and black celebs
By now you've seen this dress that's literally driving the world crazy and drumming up a load of debate online - is it black and blue or white and gold? Turns out, not everyone is seeing it the same way, which is creating some major frustration. I saw it as white and gold, then scrolled down to read more about it and when I scrolled back up, it was black and blue...witchcraft!

If you want more details on why people are seeing it differently, check out Wired's 'The Science of Why No One Agrees on the Color of This Dress.' Oh, and it's interesting to note that, in reality, the dress is black and blue. WTF.

Of course, we just had to see what celebrities were saying about the dress and, as you imagine, the results definitely varied.

Demi Lovato joked: "Wow. We now live in a world where not only can anyone become famous, but ANYTHING can too." Then she totally got into, sharing what she saw: "Hold on...So people actually see white and gold?"

Joe Jonas had a keen observation: "The dress looks like a dress. That's all." Lucy Hale tweeted: "I saw white and gold, then i saw blue and black. now I'm confused...either way...im not gonna be wearing that dress..." Chrissy Teigen maybe said it best when she mocked this fashion choice: "F**k the dress it's heinous." (Then again, she added later, "I have read the explanations and still cannot fathom how ANYONE sees white and gold and I think they're attention-seeking LIARS.")

Ariana Grande is so over it, tweeting: "if one more person asks me what color i think this damn dress is," adding, "i see grey and blue and ugly."

Justin Bieber kept it short and sweet, saying, "And for everyone asking I see blue and black," while Taylor Swift seemed as confused as most of us, writing: "I don't understand this odd dress debate and I feel like it's a trick somehow. I'm confused and scared. PS it's OBVIOUSLY BLUE AND BLACK"

Mindy Kaling's The Mindy Project almost shut down over the debate! She went on a lengthy rant about the dress: "IT'S A BLUE AND BLACK DRESS! ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME," adding, "I'm not ready for people to make jokes about the dress yet...I think I'm getting so mad about the dress because it's an assault on what I believe is objective truth. And if people disagree with my objective truth I get so angry I want to destroy that way of thinking because it is just viscerally SO WRONG"

One final hilarious thought from Camp Mindy: "This dress thing is worse than the Sony hack to me"

For Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, it was a house divided, as Kim tweeted: "What color is that dress? I see white & gold. Kanye sees black & blue, who is color blind?"

What colors do you see?

Kim reportedly has some other millions to celebrate besides the ones she's recently collected on Instagram. According to Page Six, E! is paying Kim, her mom and sisters $100 million to keep up with them for the next four years. Momager Kris Jenner was supposedly playing hardball and threatening to leave the network before the deal was finalized. "E! needs them," a source says of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians starlets.

ariana grande almost died during concert videoOh no! Ariana Grande totally had a near life-threatening accident during one of her Honeymoon tour concerts! She revealed the details of the on-stage incident in a YouTube video and it sounds like she really dodged serious injury.

Ariana took to Twitter to share the video, writing, "that time i almost died during 'love me harder' (but actually this time)." She explained the mechanical lift she was to enter the stage on malfunctioned, saying, "You need to know what happened during 'Love Me Harder.' First of all, I almost died. I'm supposed to be going up in my lift - in this wooden thing - this wooden thing breaks and I'm like...I'm about to be crunched by mechanical metal s**t and by wood and stuff..."

She demonstrated how she held on to pull herself out of harm's way. Wow. Then her guitar tech further explained that Ariana was "dangling" from the lift and he helped her, noting that she is "badass" for climbing out and going on with the show.

Margot Robbie Confesses to Stealing Toilet Paper From Hotels

Margot Robbie is officially our new girl crush! Not only did the beautiful starlet slap Leonardo Dicaprio across the face, but she steals toilet paper from hotels and is great at playing beer pong. So why does someone who starred in a blockbuster movie like The Wolf of Wall Street need to take TP?

First off, the 24-year-old has 5 roommates so we know the struggle is real to keep the roll from constantly being empty. "I live with 3 boys so I can't tell you how hard it is to get your hands on toilet paper," she explains of her living situation. "They steal it! We've got a girls' bathroom and a boys' bathroom. They sneak on up and steal all our toilet paper."

So Margot's solution was to do the same thing from a hotel. "It was one time!" she confesses. "I was busy working on Wolf and I didn't have time. Every time I got home I was like, 'Damn it! I forgot to buy toilet paper again.' I was saying goodbye to a friend who was staying at a hotel who was like, 'I'm getting on a plane to Australia so take whatever we've got leftover.' So I packed up a bag and I was like, 'Toilet paper, yes!' and then I walked out and I got papped outside the hotel."

After telling that hilariously charming story, Margot then proceeded to kick Jimmy's butt in a round of beer pong. So yeah, she's basically the best ever.

Scarlett Johansson Says John Travolta's Oscars Kiss Wasn't Creepy

87th Annual Academy Awards - ArrivalsOkay, maybe John Travolta didn't make Scarlett Johansson uncomfortable at the Oscars. As for everyone else...that's still to be determined.

After a pic popped up of the Lucy star giving John a major side eye when he kissed her on the Oscars red carpet, Scarlett defended him, saying the image was an "unfortunate still-frame."

"There is nothing strange, creepy or inappropriate about John Travolta," Scarlett told the Associated Press. "The image that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome."
87th Annual Academy Awards - Backstage And Audience"That still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live, she continued. "Yet another way we are misguided, misinformed and sensationalized by the 24-hour news cycle. I haven't seen John in some years and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by him."

Scarlett and John co-starred in the 2004 film A Love Song for Bobby Long, and were spotted giving each other a hug backstage during the show. In that pic, Scarlett is smiling and fully embracing the moment.

In spite of all the chatter behind John's awkwardness at the show - Idina Menzel chin touching included - the actor still laughed it off at Vanity Fair's Oscars party, telling the mag, "It means I get to come back next year."

We can't wait.

Harry Styles and Nadine Leopold getting serious joining him on tourIt turns out Harry Styles is totally into rumored girlfriend Nadine Leopold, according to an inside source anyway, who says the One Direction star is smitten...well, with her independence, anyway.

Plus, since Harry and Nadine haven't been spotted together since he and the guys hit the road on tour again, it's largely rumored that she'll be meeting up with him at some point to reconnect. The insider tells Heat (via Independent.ie): "She's shooting in Mexico at the moment, but she will join him on 1D's world tour for a couple of dates. But it'll be based around her modeling schedule."

The source-y type added, "She's not following him around like a lap dog and that's what's keeping Harry so interested - he's totally into her. Harry's having to do a lot of the running with Nadine. He knows what his reputation as a womanizer is like. He's desperately trying to show her that he's serious about her and she's not just another girl."

Kris Jenner Spills About Kylie's $2.7 Million Mansion

Kylie Jenner did recently say that she wanted to get a place of her own, but we had NO idea she was going to spring for a $2.7 million mansion! The good news for momager Kris Jenner is that Kylie will still be close as she will be within minutes of the Kardashian's Calabasas compound.

In a new interview with E! News, Kris spilled some deets about Kylie's new pad and what it's going to look like once Kylie puts her personal touches on it.

"You know she completely has her own style," she explained. "Kylie has her own vision on how she wants her home to look. She has a few months now until she moves in, to really take her time and get it together...so she will really embrace that time...and get really creative. Kylie is really excited!"

She did say that Kylie is the most edgy of all the sisters and likes more blacks and grays, whereas Kim Kardashian prefers more cream colors, Kourtney Kardashian prefers neutrals and Khloe Kardashian is big on whites.

Kris says she's encouraging Kylie to be "as creative as possible" with her home decor. When asked where they will be shopping for said decor, the matriarch says, "I definitely have my go-to stores. I go to Sears for appliances and William Sonoma for the kitchen and Bed Bath & Beyond for the towels."

"Kylie is doing some new floors, so we are choosing those now," she continued. "It's exciting to help someone set up a home...it's a great education because she is really gets to develop a whole new set of organizational skills."

We can't wait to see what Kylie's house ends up looking like inside! Hopefully we'll get to see some of her decorating process on the upcoming season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Khloe Kardashian has come a long way! The 30-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has been working hard on her fitness and it shows. Khloe showed off these amazing before and after photos on Instagram Friday, as well some inspiring words about her journey.

"Looking back at pictures of myself I didn't realize at the time how unhealthy my lifestyle actually was," she shares. "People love to call me the fat one but as weird as it sounds I don't think I would consider myself fat back then. Definitely overweight and unhealthy, yes."

"About two years ago I decided to turn to fitness as a form of therapy and as a stress reliever. I started slow and eventually I started working out 4 or 5 days a week. We all have to start somewhere and doing something is better than nothing at all," Khloe explains. "Start small so you don't get discouraged and give up. Remember it is all about consistency. There are no quick fixes if you want long-term results."
"Working out is a huge part of my life now," Khloe continues. "I genuinely enjoy sweating out my frustarations and living a healthier life. My workouts are not all about vanity. They are about clarity for my mind and soul. We all have different journeys in life, make sure your journey is for you and you alone. Remember in the end the turtle won the race. Slow and steady. Dedication and tenacity."

Khloe's always been beautiful but we applaud her hard work and dedication to health and fitness. You look amazing, girl!

Justin Bieber So Wants His Enemy Seth Rogen to Roast Him

Justin Bieber and Seth RogenJustin Bieber apparently wants all of his haters to take him on at once. The singer just asked funny man Seth Rogen to be one of the ones to roast him at his upcoming Comedy Central Roast. There's just one problem...Seth hates the Biebs!

"@Sethrogen all I want for my birthday is for you to roast me. I took the twitter bashing please make my bday and do it in person. Thanks," Justin wrote Thursday night on Twitter.

He also made light of Seth's Interview Sony email hack when he followed up with another tweet that said, "@Sethrogen I would have emailed u but this is the only electronic communication with u that doesn't scare me. Hope to see u at the roast :)."

While that might seem like a pretty awesome, open invitation to hate on the Biebs, Seth might be hesitant to take the gig. He's not a big fan of Justin at all. Last year he ripped the pop star a new one, after meeting him backstage at a TV show.

"[Justin's] a good example of someone you meet, who you think you're going to hate, and then you get to hate him as much as you thought," Seth said about the Biebs. "You meet him, and he lives up to every one of your expectations of how you hope he will be."

Seth went on, dissing Justin by referring to him as a "d**k" and "motherf**ker." He ended his rant by making sure everyone knew his feelings by posting on Twitter, "All jokes aside, Justin Bieber is a piece of s**t."

So, do you think Seth will join Kevin Hart and roast the Biebs? Think he should?

Demi Lovato Bikini Pic: 'You Don't Have to Have a Thigh Gap to be Beautiful'

demi lovato bikini pic thigh gap fitness self loveDemi Lovato is recovering from her recent bout with the flu (and hospital stay) and is already back to working out and hanging in a bikini, soaking up the sunshine. Demi posted a bikini pic to Instagram and had a great message about body image and self love.

The new pic of Demi shows her fit bikini-clad body (and a shadow of her snapping the photo, lol), with the caption: "Regardless of what society tells you these days...You don't have to have a thigh gap to be beautiful. It is possible to love your body the way it is. #fitness #health #acceptance #selflove"

Preach. Yet another reason to love Demi - she's always got a great positive message to share with fans.

In another pic's caption she writes, "Don't train to be skinny, train to be a #badass." Awesome! As for her recent illness, well, it wasn't all that serious, as she tweeted earlier this week: "Thanks for the get well messages.. The media likes to blow things out of proportion.. I'm fine!! Nothing a little chicken soup can't fix!!"

Glad she's back in good health again.

Here's Your First Look at Eddie Redmayne as a Transgender Woman

0

87th Annual Academy Awards - ArrivalsIs there anything Eddie Redmayne can't do?

After winning an Oscar for his portrayal of ALS-stricken Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, the actor has totally transformed again for his next drama - The Danish Girl - in which he plays transgender painter Lili Elbe/Einar Wegener.

Production company Working Title gave fans their first look at Eddie as Lili Friday, posting a stunning shot of the 33-year-old actor rocking short, red wavy hair, red lips and a yellow dress. "Eddie Redmayne as Lili Elbe in THE DANISH GIRL. Directed by Tom Hooper, the film is currently in production," Working Title captioned the snap. Quite frankly, he looks gorgeous in it. The film, set in the 1920s, chronicles the love story between Einar and his wife artist Gerda Waud (Alicia Wikander), and reveals how she persuaded him to pose for her in women's clothes after one of her models didn't show up, according to the Daily Mail. Einar later started his transformation into Lili after that incident.

Eddie previously told site he has been "observing the minutiae of feminine physicality," adding he worked with movement director Alexandra Reynolds, who also helped him choreograph his movements as Stephen Hawking, to get it right.

"We're looking at everything from a feminine perspective,' Eddie continued, calling the true story of Einar and his wife Gerda a study of "authenticity, identity and love." The thesp continued, saying, "I think it's the most sensitive role I have played," adding that he spoke with members of the transgender community to research the role.

It looks like Eddie might want to make room on his shelf for his second Academy Award.

5 Reasons Why I STILL Wear a Purity Ring (The Answers May Surprise You)

0
0

That's right, I'm that girl...you know, the one in the office who works most of the day, save the 10-15 (okay, 20 minutes) of trolling through BuzzFeed, Cambio, or some other equally addicting site, periodically squealing "I SO do that!" or "That's so TRUE!" while my amused co-workers gather around my computer screen. I love them. Many of the articles are either so inspiring or insanely hilarious that I can't get enough.

Recently, however, I have noticed a trend in the subject matter of said articles during my daily "troll." In the past week, I have literally read over a half of dozen articles gone viral about men and women who have stopped wearing their purity rings, and, as a result, are now free, whole, and independent human beings who finally know who they are and what they want out of life. And while I in no way want to belittle the personal journeys, struggles, and victories documented by these writers, I have to say that I have clicked off of most of these articles...frankly, more than a little annoyed. See, I am a 22-year old college student. I am an International Business major. I have lived all over the world. I go out on the town on weekends. I know waaaay too many people on Facebook. I have a very active Netflix account. And, oh yeah, I wear a purity ring.

Now before you roll your eyes and think that this is just another "holier than thou" rant, let me tell you why this ring (a ring that, according to many of today's articles, is the dangerous source of oppression, self-hate, and false expectations) isn't leaving my finger any time soon:

1) BECAUSE I KNOW WHO I AM.

I may not have all the bases covered, but I know what I like, what I don't like, what I want, what I don't want, who I am, who I'm not, and most of all, what I deserve. I, and only I, have the choice to portray these things to the world. I, and only I, can show people how beautiful and valuable I actually am. Ifanyone (a guy, a boss, a preacher, a family member, or even a friend) is making me feel less than I know that I am, it is because I am allowing it. And I refuse to allow it. Does wearing my purity ring make me who I am? No, it reflects it. I am confident. I am valuable. I accept that I am not perfect and that sexuality is God given and nothing to be ashamed or disgusted by, but I hold myself to a standard within that...a standard of not giving my heart, soul, and body to everyone who offers. That is who I am, and that is what my ring reflects.

2) BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT MY RING ACTUALLY MEANS.

It's so funny. If you ask most people why they even wear purity rings and what they mean, most people will say "I'm vowing to not have sex before marriage." That's it...Just like that....like they just vowed to enter a nunnery or something without any explanation. And God forbid you press further, because most of those people mumble something incoherently about the bible and their youth group if you ask the simple question, "Why?" The truth is that wearing a GENERIC purity ring with a GENERIC vow to abstain from marriage without actually knowing why is actually just as shallow as it sounds. It's like saying that you only vote one political party because that's what your family does, what your friends do, and what your neighbor down the street told you to do. It's more than a little naive and doesn't do anyone, including you, any credit.

See, while I am proud to wear a purity ring, I don't give the ring more power than it actually has. I don't put my value or self worth on my ring. I wear my purity ring solely as a reminder. Not to be the perfect Christian. Not to be the perfect daughter, or the perfect girlfriend, or the perfect wife. My ring is a reminder to treat myself as if I am worth something, to treat myself with honor and respect, and to never give up on that (In doing so, I believe that I'm showing God how grateful I am for his creation...this quirky little human being that He made with a purpose).

3) BECAUSE I KNOW WHY I PUT MY RING ON IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Ironically, in most of the articles that I have read recently on purity rings, I noticed that their qualms were not with the actual ring itself, but with the reasons they put it on in the first place. Most were pressured by the parents, by their church, by their youth group, or by their groups of friends (who, honestly, just wanted them because the Jonas Brothers had them) to buy these little circles of metal and say a little prayer as if they were joining a cult. Of course, years later, they realize that doing anything just to please people (especially when it comes to big topics like beliefs, sexuality, or I don't know, say...your identity) is a pretty bad idea, so they chuck the little things into the trash and call themselves finally "free" from the bonds of false expectations and self-destruction.

But I know what my purity ring means, and I know why I put it on in the first place. I wasn't pressured by my church, my parents didn't even know that purity rings were a thing, I was never super impressed with the Jonas Brothers (Ok, maybe Nick), and most of my friends were and still are from public schools in New Orleans and a mix of atheistic and apathetic. I wanted a reflection, a reminder of the incredibly beautiful and valuable woman that I knew God had made me to be. So, once I finally got my babysitting money together, I went out and I bought one. And I haven't taken it off since.

4) BECAUSE I STILL BELIEVE IN LOVE.

I am not one of those girls who have grown up in the church and are now convinced that they have to wait for this one perfect "John Stamos"-esque prince (who loves God, of course) to come riding up on a white horse and save them from a life of perpetual "singlehood." I don't believe in fairy tales. Don't get me wrong. I believe in "The One." I just believe that "The One" is a choice. God is wonderful, loving, and caring. He is also a giver of free will. I know that there is someone out there that God will, one day, place on my path. I also know that every day I am with that person, I will have to choose him as "The One." I will have to work, sacrifice a little, trust more than I am comfortable with, and open myself up more than I am used to...because that, folks, is love. That is what my purity ring represents. A daily reminder to really love...myself, those around me, and even those who I have yet to meet. I guess you can say that's the "purity" in the purity ring.

Because God is love. He loves us. We don't have to earn it. We don't have beg for it. Honestly, none of us even remotely deserve it, but that doesn't change a thing. He loves us just the same. Knowing that, accepting that, will free you from any oppression or pressure you may feel to try to be something that you are not...with or without a ring.

5) BECAUSE IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT THE RING.

This is for those of you who are ready to toss out your purity rings after hearing Jonas Brothers interviews, reading "exposé" articles, or even seeing your Facebook news feeds filled to the brim with anti-purity rings testimonies. First, I want you to take a moment. Ask yourself why you bought those rings in the first place. Ask yourself if the ring is actually the problem, and if it isn't, be honest with yourself. Unfortunately, so many people have been hurt as Christians or by people who call themselves Christians that it is hard to tell who or what is to blame for their pain. I don't have all of the answers. What I do know is that if we are honest with ourselves, there is a good chance that it doesn't have anything to do with the little metal ring on our finger.

As for me, I will continue to love God and people without shame or abandon, sing at the top of my lungs to my radio, laugh at ridiculously corny jokes, and continue to write these blogs...all while wearing my purity ring. I got my reasons.

Kanye West Wanted a Face Tattoo, But Kim Kardashian Talked Him Out of It

While most of us were in bed sleeping at 4:00 this morning, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were at the tattoo parlor. "Four in the mornin' and he's zonin'," Kim captioned the above picture of Yeezy, referencing his hit 'Black Skinhead.'

In the pic, he's getting ink on his wrist, but he actually wanted to get the tattoo on his face. Yes, his face. "I talked him out of getting a face tattoo...for now," Kim shared with her 27 million Instagram followers. "He got it on his wrists instead. His mothers birthdate and North's birthdate in Roman numerals."

Kanye's mom, Donda, died in 2007 at the age of 58 from complications following a plastic surgery operation. The rapper's recently released "Only One" song is a tribute to his late mother.

"Everyone asks me what my favorite Kanye song is. It's Only One. Kanye felt like his mom was singing thru him to our daughter," Kim shared on Instagram the night the song was released. "This song makes me cry every time I hear it."

We think it's sweet that he got those tattoos...and we're really glad Kim talked him out of getting them on his face.

Zedd Met Selena Gomez Because He Had to Pee

Selena Gomez and ZeddYou never know when you're going to meet the love of your life. Just ask Zedd about that! He apparently met his rumored girlfriend Selena Gomez because...he had to pee.

While recently chatting with Los Angeles' 97.1 AMP Radio, the DJ revealed that his and Sel's meeting wasn't really romantic by any means. "It was about as random as it gets," he said.

Story goes, he "had to pee" during his day off, so he stopped by the studio next to his to use the restroom. He ran into the CEO of Interscope there, and was introduced to Selena.

"She's cool," Zedd thought to himself. "Maybe we should make a song." Of course, that song would later turn out to be their new hit, "I Want You To Know."

It's not the most romantic story in the world, but we dig it. She so needed someone like Zedd to come in and save her from Justin Bieber. Don't you think?

The POINT of "The Dress"

0
0
If you are like me, you woke up from your afternoon nap yesterday, logged on to whatever social media website you have, and thought to yourself, "What the...?" The entire world took to the internet yesterday to protest, in earnest, whether a dress was either black and blue or white and gold. That's right. You didn't read this wrong. The world decidedly went crazy.....and it was all because of a dress.

Naturally, you, like me, immediately began to ask yourself the key questions. "Where did this dress come from?" "Who would even wear a dress like that?" "Why on earth does anyone, let alone everyone, care what THE COLOR OF A DRESS IS?" And I'll admit it. I was one of the many who immediately went into judgement. Shaking my head at the "sad state of society" as I looked through meme after "dress" meme, I convinced myself that this generation was pathetic, simple-minded, and had nothing better to do with its time than to comment on the color of a dress. I couldn't understand why something so simple could bring more controversy and conversation than say...the end of world hunger or sex slavery.

Then, I actually took the time to listen.

The point of the dress, according to many articles (including CNN), is not to figure out what color it is and write something clever and snarky to your friends on Twitter. Nor is it to prove that you are right and everyone around you is just colorblind and didn't know it. It's not about #teamblackandblue vs. #teamwhiteandgold. Or right vs wrong. Or good vs. bad. Or ugly vs. pretty. It's about us. ALL of us.

We are unique. We, as human beings, are bonafide original works of art. We experience life differently, and that shapes who we are today. Our eyes filter light and darkness differently. We see the world differently. We interpret the world differently. And we learn, as we grow in society, to appreciate those differences. Because working together with those differences, that is the very definition of beautiful. A perfect example of this is what happened earlier this week in the controversy between Zendaya and Giuliana Rancic. Society learned a lesson. Hate, or even distasteful words in the heat of a "funny" moment in which differences are slighted or put down instead of celebrated, should not be tolerated. EVER. And it wasn't. So, in my book, that means that we, as a society, are getting somewhere.

Yes, we still aren't perfect. Yes, there are some things have happened in government, in entertainment, in my local community that I am not proud of and that need to change. I will continue to fight and work toward these changes. Yes, there are things that we will all need to learn from as the years continue on. But we are learning. We are appreciating the incredible way that God made each one of us, and I, for one, am thankful that we are. So, if you are already sick of "this dress," don't be. Smile and be happy at the fact that we are actually recognizing the beauty of our individual perspective. Our individual way of seeing the world. Because that, my friends, is the real point of the dress.

This Is How Well Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran Know Each Other

Ed Sheeran and Taylor SwiftWe all know Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran are BFFs, but this week their bestie status was put to the test. During an interview with BBC Radio 1, Ed and Tay were asked to play a game in which they were asked questions about each other. It as a simple game of "Eds or Taylz."

The winner got to take over the loser's Twitter account. Surprisingly, the two singers know each other really well. Ed even recalled the exact moment Tay Tay won him over.

"I always looked at American performers as just people that eat grapes once a day, and just kind of like ... 'Oh, I just had a gust of wind, I'm cool.' So I was expecting to go there and be like, 'Uh, can I have a burger if Taylor's gonna have a leaf of salad?' And then she's like 'Right, let's get burgers.'"

And they aren't dating each other because...?

The question that ended the showdown was about how many views their "Everything Has Changed" video has on YouTube. One of them had a way better guess than the other. Guess who?
