Karmin's Amy And Nick Release Official "Crash Your Party" Video

Filed under:

Vevo

Karmin released their video for their first original single Crash Your Party today. The concept of the video plays off the fact that the duo got their start creating videos in their living room. It starts with them in their usual cover song set up sitting at the keyboards, but quickly transitions to them "crashing" several parties and taking the stage.

"Nick and I like to think of it like we're crashing the industry's party because the way that we got here was through you guys, through the fans," Amy said.

Want to try your hand at a Karmin cover for the holidays? Amy and Nick are asking for people to upload unique versions of Jingle Bells and tag them with #UnwastedWeekend as part of the Unwasted Weekend challenges that encourages teens to do creative stuff every weekend. Karmin will pick their favorites!

Watch the video and a behind-the-scenes video below. What do you think of their first video? What do you think of the song? Take the poll below or leave your thoughts in the Facebook comments section.

Goodbye 2011: We Predict Which Actors And Artists Will Make It Even Bigger in 2012

0

Filed under:

December is winding down and we're looking forward to big things in the New Year. Yes, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber will continue to rule the world, but check out who made our list of 2012's next big stars! Our picks aren't newcomers by any means, but based on their 2011s, their 2012s are poised to be amazing.

Zooey Deschanel
had a really good year. Despite news of her split from her husband, Death Cab For Cutie front man Ben Gibbard, Zooey proved to be a triple threat in 2011. She continued to make beautiful music with bandmate M. Ward as She and Him (they released a well-received holiday album this year), she achieved media mogul status with the successful launch of HelloGiggles with her friends Sophia Rossi and Molly McAleer and her new sitcom New Girl was a huge hit for FOX and got picked up for a full season going into 2012.

See the latest Cambio news for Zooey Deschanel >>

Chris Colfer struck gold back in 2009 when he was plucked from obscurity in high school in Clovis, CA and landed on one of the most popular shows that year, Glee. His role as the openly gay student Kurt Hummel has garnered the actor fans and awards. He was also named one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential people in 2011. But it's what he's doing outside the halls of McKinley High School in 2012 that have us intrigued. He sold a pilot to Disney, he'll star in Struck By Lightning, which he also wrote and has already been filmed. He has two children's novels, The Land Of Stories, coming out and there's also those pesky rumors of a Glee spinoff starring Chris and costar Lea Michele.

Honorable mention: Look to one of Chris' other Glee costars to make major waves in 2012. Dianna Agron is taking a page from Zooey's book and launching her own website, You, Me And Charlie.

See the latest Cambio news for Chris Colfer >>

Josh Hutcherson
, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth scored the roles of a lifetime in 2011 when they landed parts in March 2012's The Hunger Games, the film adaptation of Suzanne Collin's wildly successful dystopian trilogy where teens battle to the death in a post-democracy America where food is scarce. Jennifer Lopez made the comeback of the year in 2011 and is well-positioned to pretty much control the world in 2012. She's returning to American Idol and has several new shows of her own in the works, one of which will be debuting here on Cambio.

Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan of Karmin went viral this year with a cover of Chris Brown's Look At Me Now that landed them 48 million YouTube views, an appearance on Ellen, a record deal and their first official music video.

One Direction is definitely heading in the right direction. The band, comprised of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson was formed on the UK version of The X Factor. They came in third on the competition, but not before garnering a massive British fanbase of their own. The group is planning a U.S. invasion in 2012 when they join Big Time Rush on their national tour.

Check out their 'Gotta Be You' music video for more on these well-dressed dreamy teen Brits. Their debut album, Up All Night, will be released in the U.S. in early 2012.

See the latest Cambio news for One Direction >>

At the time we wrote this, Victorious star Ariana Grande was approaching 1 million followers on Twitter with no sign of slowing down anytime soon. The pint-sized Nickelodeon starlet is debuting her first single, Put Your Hearts Up at the end of this year. Based on her impressive Klout score (she beat out Miley Cyrus recently), we think it will be a pretty successful venture. Cambio visited her at her home earlier this year where she gave us the exclusive inside scoop on her music career, personal style and her life with her family in Los Angeles. Watch the video below.

Honorable mention: Another member of the 1 million Twitter followers club and the star of Victorious, Ariana's pal Victoria Justice will branch out in 2012 to do much more of her own music in addition to what she records for the show. Trust us when we say, this girl is just getting started.

Nick Jonas
had a successful South American tour in 2011, but his 2012 is action packed. He'll appear in NBC's new musical drama Smash about a Broadway play getting green lit and, speaking of Broadway, Nick is heading to NYC to take over for Daniel Radcliffe and Darren Criss as J. Pierpont Finch in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying beginning in January. And maybe he and his brothers will finally get around to that Jonas Brothers reunion.

Honorable mention: Nick's brother Kevin Jonas will step behind the camera in 2012 to direct a short film alongside Kellan Lutz, Troian Bellisario and Nina Dobrev as part of the new Killer Digital series premiering on Cambio next year.

See the latest Cambio news for Nick Jonas >>

Kendall Jenner
could have easily had a low-key 2011, what with her sister Kim's wedding and divorce and other sister Kourtney's pregnancy. But the teen went full steam ahead, continuing her modeling career, helping out with Meals On Wheels, cheerleading and contributing a blog entry for Huffington Post High School encouraging other teens to find worthwhile after-school activities and be passionate about their endeavors. Who knows what Kendall and sister Kylie will be up to in 2012, we just know we can't wait to keep up with them more.

Check out our exclusive interview with Kendall earlier this year about her charity work with Meals On Wheels and her cheerleading below.

Thanks to her devoted fans, Katy Perry has been able to raise over $175,000 for charity from special ticket sales of her widely successful California Dreams tour.

According to the pop star's record label, more than 50 nonprofit organizations will be given a portion of the money, with The Humane Society of the United States, Children's Health Fund and Generosity Water receiving more than $40,000 each.

"I'm thrilled to be able to help support the work these organizations are doing to fight and prevent animal cruelty, provide health care to homeless children and bring clean drinking water to communities around the world," Katy said.

The money raised will help Children's Health Fund pay for more than 430 doctor visits helping needy and at-risk children, who don't have access to basic health care. Generosity Water will be able to provide more than 4,000 people with clean drinking water, as the money will help build wells in Ghana, Nigeria, Laos and India.

Meanwhile, the Humane Society of the United States will be able to fund a rescue operation for nearly 50 puppy-mill dogs alongside its daily goal to improve the lives of all animals. Being an animal lover, we're sure this puts a smile on the 'Teenage Dream' singer's face. Good job, Katy!

Lucas Cruikshank's 'FRED' series made him an online sensation, and now the 18-year-old has unveiled the first episode of his latest project -- a new animated series called 'It's Fred.'

The YouTube-exclusive series follows all of the classic 'FRED' characters, with Lucas voicing Fred, Jake Weary, Taryn Southern and Loraine Newman. "It's basically the 'Fred' classic videos in cartoon form," the Nebraska native tells Cambio exclusively. "It's awesome because in cartoon format the possibilities of what Fred can do are almost endless."

'FRED Gets Adopted,' the first episode of the series, follows Fred as he tries to get adopted by Judy's parents. Naturally, things don't go as planned. The wacky clip shows the character in a whole new way, and Lucas couldn't be more excited.

"It's amazing how many different formats Fred has been translated into," he says. "We've done the videos, two movies, an album, a joke book, and now an animated series. I'm just excited to see how the fans react to the animation."

The first season of 'It's Fred' contains nine episodes, with a new one debuting each Thursday. While Lucas waits to find out what his fans think of his animated series, he already has his sights set on his next project. "I'm filming a pilot for Nickelodeon in early 2012 that revolves around a new character," he reveals. "I'm really excited for that one!"

Demi Lovato has added a new tattoo to her collection, which she photographed and tweeted for all of her fans to see.

"Sometimes you just gotta have a little bit of......" the 19-year-old wrote on Twitter along with a photo of her forearm. The image revealed the word "faith" tattooed on her skin as a constant reminder for the talented singer/actress.

This isn't Demi's only tattoo. Earlier this year, the 'Skyscraper' singer had the words "Stay Strong" inked on her wrists. The star also has a heart on her wrist, which she got in honor of her fans.

"It's something that my fans were actually drawing on their wrists while I was still in treatment," she said in her exclusive Cambio video. "Some people even got tattoos of it, so I wanted to show you guys that I will never forget the support that you guys gave me."

Breaking book news! Alloy Entertainment, the folks that have brought you the TV versions of book series including The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars and more released a new title today with publishers Razorbill, an imprint of Penguin, titled The Probability of Miracles.

The book, written by Wendy Wunder, revolves around Cam, a terminally-ill 17-year-old who moves to Promise, Maine with her family in hopes of a miracle cure for her cancer. There she meets a boy, Asher, and also goes about fulfilling a checklist of items to accomplish before she dies.

Sounds interesting, right?

We're excited to read any book right now that isn't dystopian (The Hunger Games, Divergent, Delirium, Mortal Instruments) or involves mythical creatures (Twilight, Shiver, Beautiful Creatures, Wings). Not that we don't love those genres, we just welcome some diversity, although there may be a supernatural element to Promise, Maine.

Check out the book trailer below. To learn more about the book, visit the official book site where you can even read the first five chapters for free online. What books are you reading right now?

Cambio got to know AMA winner and Youtube sensation Christina Grimmie when she popped into our studio to chat. We've seen her soulful stylings, but this time we got to know the musician herself.

Christina told us that posting her music on Youtube was actually not her idea - it was a friend who suggested it to her! Christina is still amazed that she is now writing her own songs and winning awards. The biggest moment in her career so far was being invited to open for Selena Gomez's tour. Christina loved being on stage and, although she only had a 20-minute set, she was excited to hear fans screaming her name at the shows.

Christina started singing and writing music at a young age. She looks up to Christina Aguilera as her musical idol and draws inspiration about vocal technique and performance style from her. Christina Grimmie's debut album, Find Me, is a pop, dance album with meaningful lyrics.

After sending out a tweet asking for Jonas Brothers fans who live in L.A., Cambio messaged the first 20 to respond with an address to meet at where they were loaded onto a bus and driven to the secret location where Nick was rehearsing for some upcoming shows on his South America tour this past September. Fans were treated to intimate and raw performances of Who I Am, Last Time Around, Conspiracy Theory and Inseparable and got to chat it up with Nick, who was also celebrating his birthday that day, between songs.

Rachel Crow Is Dramatically Eliminated From 'X Factor' -- Was It Her Time To Go? (Vote)

Last night's 'X Factor' elimination was full of drama -- and tears. Rachel Crow and Marcus Canty were on the chopping block, and it was the 13-year-old who was sent packing.

But it didn't happen smoothly. The judges panel voted 2-1 to send Marcus home, and it all came down to Nicole Scherzinger's vote. Tears streamed down her face, as the emotional pop star was torn about the decision.

In the end, she said she couldn't make it, and ended up voting for Rachel in order to send the vote into deadlock. The decision then became America's, and, ultimately, Rachel didn't have enough votes to carry on.

Upon hearing the news, Rachel broke down in front of the cameras, bawling to her mom and the judges. Still, she remained positive, humble and thankful. "I just.. I love you so much, everybody, for voting for me," the emotional teen said. "Thank you for giving me this, because without you I am nothing. I hope this [is] not my ending. You know what, I know it's not, and I will go so far, I promise you -- and I love you."

There are four finalists left in the competition, including: Melanie Amaro, Marcus Canty, Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene. Tune in on Wednesday, December 4 at 8PM on FOX to see them battle it out once again.

Miley Cyrus Designs Charity T-Shirt for Brother's Clothing Line

Miley Cyrus has nothing but love for her brother, Trace Cyrus, which is why she's teaming up with him on a shirt for his new Southern Made Hollywood Paid collection.

The 19-year-old singer was shot modeling the tee, which boasts the S.M.H.P. acronym and a peace sign/dream catcher design on it. We have no doubt that Miley had her input in the shirt, since she has a dream catcher tattooed on her side.

The shirt is the first item from Southern Made Hollywood Paid's winter line, and proceeds from its sale will go to the Miley Cyrus Foundation.

If you're wondering where the name of the label came from, Trace grew up in Tennessee and says he'll always consider it his home. "I have always had a love for fashion, and the opportunity presented itself to have a clothing company of my own and I really wanted the name of it to represent me," he says.

Trace adds, "That is why I decided on Southern Made Hollywood Paid. I feel it tells a lot about my life, my story, and me. I love any way to express myself and that's why I started SMHP." The Trace and Miley's collaboration tee is on sale now at S.M.H.P.'s online store for $28.

"So apparently I missed it on the radio," Ariana tweeted. "It was really early! Grrrr. But so exciting anyway! Hope you all <3 the song! #puttyourheartsup :)"

'Put Your Hearts Up' was co-written by Linda Perry, sampling a melody from her 1993 hit 'What's Up?' by with her band 4 Non Blondes. The track hits iTunes on December 20.

As promised, Greyson Chance appeared on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on Friday to premiere his new 'Hold On 'Til the Night' video, and it was totally worth the wait.

The video is shot in black-and-white, and uses light bulbs to represent all who haven't lost hope. Before the premiere, Greyson said the video is "different from anything I have ever done," and is about "lighting up a new generation."

Not only did the 14-year-old sit down with the talk show host to show his fans what he's been working on, but he also treated the audience to an early Christmas present -- a live rendition of 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree.' Of course, Ellen couldn't let Greyson go without giving him something special: An in-person meeting with his inspiration, Lady Gaga!

Greyson will be performing at the Rock the Red Kettle concert live on December 17, and Cambio will be broadcasting the entire show that day, beginning at 5PM PT. He'll join the likes of Colbie Caillat, Hanson, Cody Simpson, Honor Society and Drake Bell, who will also perform at the event, hosted by Mario Lopez.

Until then, check out the singer-songwriter's new video, as well as his rendition of the classic holiday tune, below. Greyson's debut album, 'Hold On 'Til the Night' is available in stores and on iTunes now.

From little girls singing Nicki Minaj te saw a lot of crazy hijinks this year on video. Some of them made us laugh, some made us cringe. For better or worse, here are our favorite viral vids of 2011, including some of our very own:

1. Rebecca Black changes Friday forever

It seems like it's been over a year since we were graced with the presence of Rebecca Black's Friday video, but it only came out this past March. The video went viral within a week and went on to reach full on pandemic status. Her song was sung on Glee and she appeared in Katy Perry's music video for Last Friday Night.

We also got to go behind the scenes of Rebecca's video for her follow-up pop song, Person of Interest.

2. Sophia Grace covers Nicki Minaj's 'Super Bass'

We can't get enough of Sophia Grace Brownlee and her hype girl Rosie. Neither could Ellen Degeneres and about 90% of America this year. Sophia's cover of Super Bass by Nicki Minaj was so amazing, she got to meet her idol and sing with her and she met Katy Perry, Rihanna and more. We're equally obsessed with the new Sophia Grace and Rosie Show.

3. Girl falls in fountain while texting

We are super against texting while driving, but we're all for texting while walking if it gets us hilarious YouTube videos like this one of a woman actually toppling into a mall fountain because she wasn't watching where she was going.

4. The News According to Snooki

We had no idea when we had Snooki come into our studios to film a news report that it would end up making actual news. The clip garnered massive buzz and appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN and The Today Show and local news reports too. Oops. Viva la Snooki!

5. Darren Criss performs in Santa Monica

When we had Darren Criss play an impromptu concert in Santa Monica for On The Spot, we were hoping for some fans to gather and listen, but we didn't plan on it showing up on YouTube and causing a stir on social media, but that's exactly what happened.

6. Demi Lovato takes over Twitter and it's captured on video

Using her HTC Status, we had Demi Lovato take over our social media accounts when she did a signing event at an AT&T store and the results were insane. Thousands of Demi's fans got involved including flocking to the store to meet her and participating online by asking her questions. We captured it all on a video that had fans asking for more.

7. CliffsNotes does Shakespeare... did Romeo just say 'jeggings?'

Our super short versions of some of Shakespeare's classics to the Internets by storm this October. Over a million people tuned in to watch irreverent versions of Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Julius Caesar and more. Our favorite was Hamlet.
