These mom-managers (momagers) and dad-managers (dadagers) haven't let it stop them!
And with their crazy Hollywood lives, we get why some celebs like to keep their family members close by. But would we ever want our mom or dad be our manager? The jury's still out. One thing's for sure. They're all colorful characters.
The momager with the most buzz right now is, of course, Kris Jenner. She manages the whole Kardashian empire, which is reportedly worth about $80 million. (We were expecting an even higher number since Kim is reportedly worth $40 million alone!) Sour grapes? This week it was reported that Mama Kris' overbearing attitude played a part in daughter Khloe's exit as an X Factor host, a claim her rep calls "ridiculous."
Beyoncé's dad, Mathew Knowles, managed Destiny's Child to fame before taking the same role for the girls individually as solo artists. "When I turned 18 and started handling my business more, he went into shock," Beyoncé told Oprah. In 2011, a very grown up Queen B fired her dad as she wanted to have more control over her own career. We can't imagine what that conversation must have been like.
