On part two of
The Voice "Battles" premiere, we saw six more contestants go head to head.
First up,
Michael Austin and
Warren Stone duked it out in the civil service battle (Michael is a sheriff and Warren is a firefighter) for
Adam Levine's team.
The duo sang "My Kinda Party" and it looked like a dead heat.
To make the decision even more difficult for Adam,
Blake Shelton said he thought Michael won,
Usher picked Warren as the winner and
Shakira said she liked them both equally.
In the end, Adam decided to go with Warren Stone and after nobody stole Michael, he was sent home.
The next battle was for team Usher and pitted teammates
Jeff Lewis and
Josiah Hawley against each other singing "Roxanne."
Unfortunately, the duo didn't impress the judges all that much.
Shakira acknowledged that it was a difficult song, but said she wasn't impressed and Adam agreed, saying he felt that it fell flat.
Forced to pick a winner, Usher decided to go with Josiah.
The final battle of the evening was between
Caroline Glaser and
Danielle Bradbery for team Blake.
The girls sang "Put Your Records On" and the judges were really impressed with how well the young contestants did.
Shakira said it was "as refreshing as tangerine ice cream" (which Adam is now dying to try), Blake said Danielle's ability blows his mind and Adam said he was an idiot for not turning for Caroline during the blind auditions because she has something "magical" in her voice.
Blake ultimately declared Danielle the winner of the battle, but Adam and Usher didn't waste a single second before trying to steal Caroline.
As her former coach, Blake chimed in and said that he thinks Caroline needs to be with someone who can help cultivate her talents as a singer AND a songwriter. Caroline ultimately decided that Adam was the best one to help her do just that.
In other battles that we didn't see,
Grace Askew defeated
Trevor Davis to keep her spot on team Blake,
Audrey Karnish beat
Jamila Thompson to stay on team Usher and
Tawnya Reynolds kept her spot on team Shakira when she beat
Mark Andrew.
