Filed under:

Nicki Minaj is following in Taylor Swift's footsteps, posing for a promo pic with LL Cool J for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, which is less than two weeks away.

The 'Super Bass' rapper is standing on the left in a fiery red fringe top with straightened blonde locks. She looks tiny next to the giant gramophone and LL, who dwarfs the animated Queens native.

The photo is similar to the Grammy pic that Taylor took recently for the upcoming event. Nicki is poised to win big this year, as her widely successful debut album, 'Pink Friday,' has helped her earn nominations for Best New Artist and Best Rap Album, as well as Best Rap Performance for 'Moment 4 Life.'

The Young Money rapper is also set to drop her sophomore album, 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' this April, so fans have a lot to look forward to this year. Good luck, Nicki! Tune into the 2012 Grammys live on Sunday, February 12 on CBS at 8PM ET.

Demi Lovato decided to take a Twitter break on January 21, but she has broken her silence twice since then, most recently to set the record straight.

"Don't believe the hype...." she tweeted on Monday. "All is well! SO stoked to head to Chile in a few days!!! Love all my Lovatics... MUAH! xo."

The rumor mill has been churning out reports of Demi returning to rehab, but it's clear that the 19-year-old singer is doing just fine. In fact, she also participated in a Twitter interview with Seventeen magazine last Friday.

Demi is set to perform at the Iquique Festival in Chile where she will share the stage with Colombian pop star Juanes on February 4. This will be the star's third time in the South American country.

Taylor Lautner was set to play the title role in the big-screen adaptation of 'Stretch Armstrong,' but now the movie will be made without the 'Twilight' star.

According to TheWrap.com, the 19-year-old will no longer be starring in the action film "due to scheduling conflicts." A source close to the project confirmed the news to the site on Monday.

'Stretch Armstrong,' inspired by the popular Hasbro action figure, was expected to be released this year, and Taylor was expected to earn a reported $7.5 million for the role. The Wrap adds that Tay had made room in his busy schedule to be a part of the project, dropping out of 'Max Steel' and 'Northern Lights.'

A new cast will be announced soon, and Relativity has reset the movie's release date to April 11, 2014. Taylor's next movie, 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2,' will arrive in theaters on November 16.

Cassadee Pope stopped by the Cambio studio to talk about her new solo project and U.S. acoustic tour. Cassadee got her start as the front girl of the pop/rock band Hey Monday and after touring and working with the band for the past four years, Cassadee has decided to take a break and work on her career as a solo artist.

"I decided to take a break on Hey Monday because things started slowing down for us and the thing that I kept thinking about was going solo, so I just went for it and now I'm going on tour," Cassadee said.

Cassadee also talked to us about her new sound and how it is different from that of Hey Monday.

"I think the best comparison would be the old Katy Perry stuff. A little edgier, a little more fun. Her lyrics are always very honest and that's the kind of stuff that I'm going to do," Cassadee said.

Avril Lavigne is also one of the inspirations for Cassadee's new music, but Cassadee says that the bands she listened to growing up, like Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy, will always influence her.

"I'd love to be on pop radio, but no matter what I'll always have that edge that I've had since I started singing," Cassadee said.

Cassadee recently covered the song "Torn" and will be playing it on her acoustic tour. She also plans to play some of Hey Monday's hit songs and will be taking requests.

She also hinted that Ryan Key, lead singer of Yellowcard, will possibly be making a special guest appearance to cover "Only One" with her at the Key Club in Los Angeles on January 31st.

After the interview, Cassadee went outside for a special Cambio photo shoot! Cassadee had so much fun taking photos in an alleyway outside our studio. She even found a sweet saying written in graffiti that she wanted to take some pictures in front of.

For a complete list of tour dates and to download Cassadee's new cover of Torn, go to facebook.com/CassadeePopeMusic.

Justin Bieber Will Host 'SNL' This Season, Says Alec Baldwin

Justin Bieber is set to host an upcoming episode of 'Saturday Night Live.' Well, at least that's what Alec Baldwin says.

During the '30 Rock' star's latest podcast on WNYC, Alec is hanging out in the office of 'SNL' executive producer Lorne Michaels, reading off names from a board that lists confirmed show hosts this season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alec says, "The biggest names in the business are coming here thirty-something years [after SNL's debut] to host the show. Ben Stiller, Melissa McCarthy, [who] won the Emmy award, and Katy Perry's coming and Jimmy Fallon, who's double-dipping on your payroll, Jonah Hill, and I don't want to ruin any other names, [but] Bieber's confirmed, he's the music and the [host]."

NBC has yet to confirmed the news, but we wouldn't be surprised to see The Biebs take on double duty at 'SNL.' He was the musical guest on the show in 2010, and has appeared in skits with Tina Fey and Dana Carvey.

Do you think Justin would do a good job hosting and performing on 'Saturday Night Live'? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

We caught up with Leven Rambin, who plays the tribute Glimmer in The Hunger Games, at her photo shoot for Seventeen Magazine. Turns out, the odds were forever in her favor during the audition process for the part of the fierce career tribute.

"The audition process was really cool," she told us. "I was so excited because I'd read the books and I was dying to audition. Luckily I was able to channel all that nervous excited energy into this ferocious Glimmer energy. That worked in my favor I think."

Leven also talks about the training she had to go through for the role.

"I just had some pretty hard core fights, like combat fights and if your wrist slips one inch too far you're going to get punched in the face," she said. "I was actually thrown on accident by a tackle and went pretty far. And it was kind of scary."

Miley Cyrus Cracks Her Tailbone

Bauer-Griffin

Miley Cyrus suffered the consequences of goofing around on Monday when she attempted to do a front flip and cracked her tailbone instead. Ouch!

The 19-year-old used Twitter to share the incident with her fans, admitting she's not as coordinated as she'd like to be. "Cracked my tail bone doing a front flip... on to the couch," she wrote. "Thats like when i tripped over a pillow and broke my arm. #onlyme."

Whether Miley seriously injured herself is unknown, but she's been tweeting about everything from loving lyrics (maybe to boyfriend Liam Hemsworth?) to her love of overalls since the incident. Sounds like she's doing A-OK!

Still, with Miley's track record, she might want to refrain from practicing gymnastics in the near future.

Cosmopolitan

Selena Gomez is Cosmopolitan magazine's March cover girl, looking stunning in a low-cut floral dress. In the cover story, the 19-year-old dishes on her life, including tidbits about her relationship with Justin Bieber.

'"I'm just like every 19-year-old girl," she says. "If you're in love, you're in love to the fullest, and you just want to go to the movies, hang out, and be as normal as possible. I'm fortunate that I've found someone who has that philosophy."

We don't know if renting out the Staples Center to watch a private screening of 'Titanic' qualifies as "normal," but we get what Sel means. Justin obviously feels the same way. He gushed about his leading lady in an interview last October.

"Everybody can see she is hot and that's great, but there is so much more to her than that," he said. "She makes me laugh and she puts up with my practical jokes. She has really strong family values as well..."

To read more from Selena's cover story, check out the March issue of Cosmopolitan when it hits newsstands on Tuesday, February 7.

Kristen Bell really loves sloths. So, when her fiance, Dax Shepard, decided to surprise her with one on her birthday, she was so overcome with emotion that she had a "full-fledged panic attack."

The now 31-year-old actress appeared on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' recently, revealing her passion for the tree-dwelling animals. She described knowing that a sloth was nearby and how she was bursting with excitement.

"I didn't know how to process that, because my entire life had been waiting for this moment where I would get to interact -- I'm serious -- with a sloth," she told the talk show host and the audience.

She added, "The first thing you should know about me, if I'm not between a three and a seven on the emotional scale, I'm crying. [I'm crying] if I'm too sad, I'm crying if I'm too excited."

And cry she did. Dax happened to capture video footage of the star bawling over the prospect of hanging out with a sloth, making us love Kristen more than we already do. Check out the clip from 'Ellen' below. Have you ever been so excited about something that you burst into tears?

I had pictures of him and I had 'NSYNC posted. I had the biggest crush on Justin Timberlake!"

Lily doesn't dish on her former relationship with 'Abduction' co-star Taylor Lautner, but she does open up about her most prominent feature -- her eyebrows.

"It used to bother me - having bigger, fuller brows. I even plucked them once so I'd fit in, but I hated them and couldn't wait for them to grow back," the admits. "Now I embrace them. I've realized the quirky things that make you different are what make you beautiful."

BFF.tv Blog: 3 Movies We Are Psyched For!

0
0

Filed under:

Now that award season is in full swing, and we've begun honoring the best of the best in film, we can't help but start to get excited about some new movies on the horizon. Although it wasn't easy, we've narrowed down our list to three movies we're psyched to see over the next few months!

The Iron Lady (in theaters now)

This month, we're all about The Iron Lady! This buzzed about movie stars award winning actress Meryl Streep, who takes on the role of Margaret Thatcher, the first woman prime minister of the United Kingdom. Streep already took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her portrayal of Thatcher, and it's said to be a favorite to win at the Oscars next month. We think The Iron Lady is definitely one worth catching!

Plot: The Iron Lady is a surprising and intimate portrait of Margaret Thatcher, the first and only female Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. One of the 20th century's most famous and influential women, Thatcher came from nowhere to smash through barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male dominated world.

Chronicle (February 3, 2012)

In February, we'll be checking out the sci-fi flick, Chronicle, which stars Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell, and Michael Kelly. The film's shaky cam style of cinematography is reminiscent of Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity. If you ask us, this super-power film looks totally scary, so we'll probably have to take in an early showing.

Plot: Three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to their developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. As they learn to control their abilities and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over.

The Hunger Games (March 23, 2012)

March is all about the highly anticipated movie, The Hunger Games, based on Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel, and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson & Liam Hemsworth (Miley Cyrus's BF http://www.bff.tv/miley-vanessa-young-hollywood-shows-major-pda/). The franchise is already being compared by some to the Twilight series, though we we're not sure how Twi-hard fans feel about drawing any links between their beloved romantic saga and the upcoming action adventure film. Either way, it's at the top of our must-see list!

Plot: Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Filed under:

Justin Bieber has been hard at work on his new album, 'Believe,' and on Tuesday the singer got a special visit from his famous friend Lil Wayne.

Weezy dropped by to see The Biebs and the two were snapped while the 17-year-old was taking time to chill out on his skateboard. "Good time in the studio last night," Justin wrote on February 1. "Back at it tonight. oh yeah...and big bro came thru..."

JB posted a photo of himself and Lil Wayne before sending another tweet and a second pic to clarify: "And when i say big bro i mean @LilTunechi . #BELIEVE IT #family."

We're not sure if the rapper laid vocals down during his visit, though. Despite their friendship, Weezy said last summer that he wouldn't collaborate with Justin because he didn't want to mess with his image. Whether he's sticking to what he said remains to be seen.

Do you think Lil Wayne should release a song with Justin Bieber? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
